Alliance Teams Win Premier League
97 Boys Black and 98 Boys Black bring home titles

FC Alliance continues to stamp it’s name on the southeastern United States.  Once again, multiple FC Alliance teams have won Premier League Central championships.  Both the 98 Boys Black and 97 Boys Black wrapped up their titles during the weekend of October 13-14.  The 98 Boys Black are no strangers to regional success, although this is their first region premier league title.  Ditto for the 97 Boys Black, as they have wandered into unchartered territory by making a huge regional statement.

The 97 Boys Black have long been considered a strong team, but not quite elite.  After a year at the helm, Coach Josh Gray has helped push them over that hurdle.  This year, the team rolled to an 8-1 finish in the league.  Key wins include a 3-2 victory over Vestavia Hills Black (September 15) and a 2-1 triumph over Louisiana Fire Red (September 22).  The team will now gear up for the Division 1 state finals in November.

The FC Alliance 98 Boys Black team went undefeated in premier league play to capture their first title.  They won eight games and tied one.  This is a huge improvement from 2011, when the team finished third.  Also very impressive is their scoring stats, as they outscored their opponents by a combined score of 34-3.  In five of their nine games, 98 Boys Black won by at least three goals.

The titles qualify both teams for the 2013 Region 3 tournament in Edmond, Oklahoma.
