Fifth State Championship!

98 Boys claim another crown

If competitive soccer teams received rings for state championships, one hand of each FC Alliance 98 Boys USYSA NL player would be full.  The team continued their long run of success at the state tournament with another crown the weekend of November 7-9.    The victory marked their fifth title in six years of competition.

The run to the state cup began with a 5-0 win over Nashville Soccer Club Barcelona.  In the second game, the team's high powered attack continued their marauding ways with a 5-1 triumph over Chattanooga FC Academy Premier.  This set the stage for a game against longtime rival Tennessee Soccer Club in the finals.  A high pressure defense and relentless attack on goal put FC Alliance up 1-0 at halftime.  Their intensity continued in the second half, paving the way to a 3-1 win for 98 Boys USYSA NL.  It is their fourth straight state championship, and the win earns them a trip to the regional tournament in North Little Rock, Arkansas in June 2015.

The team’s resume of success stretches beyond Tennessee.  They won the 2013 Region Premier League, the 2012 Region III Premier League Central, and the currently lead the 2014 Premier League Central with two games remaining.

Next up is the Gatlinburg College Showcase, followed by National League play in Wilson, NC and Orlando, FL in December.
